‘Kim’s collaborative spirit joined by her knowledge, skills, and values has led to one of the most enjoyable and inspirational collaborations of my career.

Tell Kim what you hope your audience will learn or experience, and watch her thoughtfully mold a presentation or activity that exceeds your expectations every time!’

CLP Founding Director, Kim Stauffer, consulted with the cast and director of this very special play to create a trauma-informed space and experience for both actors and audience members.

"My work with Kim and the Center for Listening and Presence on The LeftEarlies was instrumental in creating a collaborative creative space where participants felt secure, supported, seen, and heard. As we developed a piece exploring an often polarizing and fraught topic, this became essential for the success of the production and the welfare of the creative team. Kim’s process had a profound impact on the experience of all involved."

Preserving Resilience: A Wellness Series for Burnout Prevention

This workshop, provided with collaborator GLEE Wellness, was offered to a cohort of middle school teachers. Aimed at providing tools for self-care to prevent burnout and enhance well-being. CLP focused on skills and strategies to help them listen and respond to their own needs by bringing themselves to the present moment and observing in real time.

Projects

1. Simulation Project

CLP collaborates with the School of Social Welfare to offer online simulations for MSW students in preparation for field placements. Faculty create client case studies with specific learning objectives and presenting challenges. Then, CLP trains actors to portray those clients for the Learners who engage with them in online (practice) sessions.

2. Experiential Listening Workshops with incoming MSW student cohorts

Sessions focus on skill-building around listening, conflict resolution, empathy development, and the ability to pivot when faced with the unexpected.

Client Testimonials

  • First, I want to say thank you. It was so helpful to have experiential practice.

We were essentially holding our awareness of the other person and our own internal experience at the same time. It's so grounding and useful in staying attuned and present with another person without feeling like we must bring more than what is in the moment.

    —Rachel B. MSW, MS.Ed

  • I found these activities to be extremely helpful in developing my practice.

Reading from a textbook can only get you so far, and these experiential learning activities challenged me in ways that are similar to how I will be.

    —Katie D. MSW, MS.Ed

  • “Powerful! Next-level interpersonal development opportunities.”

    —Rachel S. Sales Rep.

  • The exercises invited me to be totally present in a way that I haven’t been in a while."
